Worcestershire is easily accessible from major cities such as London, Manchester and Bristol in as little as ninety minutes by car. There are regular fast services direct from London Paddington and the county is only a stone’s throw away from Birmingham city centre.

The City of Worcester
Just six miles from Ockeridge, Worcester is well worth a visit! A vibrant city with lots of bars and restaurants, it offers not only lots to see by day, but it’s a great night out too.
Boasting the magnificent Worcester Cathedral for starters, Worcester may be well known for Worcester Porcelain and Worcestershire Sauce. But it’s a city fit to bursting with architectural and historical delights. And if that’s not your thing, it also has top sporting teams, entertainment venues, a huge selection of high street and independent shops, plus a year-round programme of events.
Explore The Commandery to learn about Worcester’s role in the English Civil War. Take in a contemporary exhibition at the City Art Gallery and admire the half-timbered buildings in Friar Street. These include Greyfriars’ House & Garden and the 500-year-old Tudor House. And there are plenty of guided city walks at all times of day from the Guildhall.
Tewkesbury Abbey
Tewkesbury Abbey, in the English county of Gloucestershire, is the second largest parish church in the country and a former Benedictine monastery. It is one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Britain.
Walk – The Malvern Hills
The Malvern Hills are a range of hills in the English counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and a small area of northern Gloucestershire,
At the highest summit you are rewarded with a glorious panorama of the Severn Valley with the hills of Herefordshire and the Welsh mountains, parts of thirteen counties, the Bristol Channel, plus the cathedrals of Worcester, Gloucester and Hereford.

Witley Court & Gardens
Once of the great country houses of England, after a devastating fire in 1937, it became one of the country’s most spectacular ruins.
It is still possible to gain a sense of the opulence and scale of the 19th-century interiors, as well as to see the earlier layers of the building’s history laid bare by the fire.

Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb
A hill climb in Shelsley Walsh, Worcestershire, England, organised by the Midland Automobile Club (MAC). It is one of the oldest motorsport events in the world and is the oldest to have been continuously staged (wartime excepted) on its original course, having been first run in 1905.
Severn Valley Steam Railway
The Severn Valley Railway is a full-size standard-gauge railway line. Running regular, steam-hauled, passenger trains between Kidderminster in Worcestershire and Bridgnorth in Shropshire, a distance of approximately sixteen miles.

Bewdley – Riverside town
Located on the River Severn in the Wyre Forest District it is described as ‘the most perfect small Georgian town in Worcestershire.’ Its name says it all – from the French words Beau Lieu – “beautiful place.”
Within the town there is a lot to see, including river walks, a museum, churches, beautiful gardens, not to mention a large variety of pubs and eateries.
Bewdley has major events running throughout the year, as well as two market days on the first and third Sundays of the month.
The Wyre Forest – Walking & Bike Hire
Wyre Forest offers a wonderful day outdoors with activities to suit all. With 3 way marked walking trails, a family cycle route, bike hire, horse trails, Go Ape, play area and onsite café.
Events include a weekly Parkrun, Health Walks, Toddler Forest Fun and monthly Family Forest adventures, as well as lots of one-off events.
